Which Active Rock running sock for which run?
A new year, a new training plan. Before you log the first kilometres, make sure the sock inside your shoe is the right one for the run you are planning.
Active Rock makes three running options. Here is which one to wear, and when.
Which Active Rock running sock should I choose?
Choose the Running Low Cut for a light, minimal feel with maximum freedom. Choose the Running Ankle if you want coverage above the shoe collar to prevent friction around the ankle. Choose the Compression sock when you want leg support during hard efforts and for recovery afterwards.
| Running Low Cut | Running Ankle | Compression | |
|---|---|---|---|
| Height | Low cut | Ankle | Knee-high compression |
| Best for | Runners who want the lightest, most minimal feel | Runners who get rubbing from the shoe collar | Hard sessions, races and recovery |
| Key feature | Lightweight, breathable, secure fit | Coverage above the shoe to prevent friction | Helicoidal compression that follows the leg |
Running Low Cut: light and free
The Running Low Cut is built for runners who want lightweight comfort and a secure fit in every stride. It combines targeted cushioning, seamless construction and moisture-managing bamboo fibres, so you can stay focused from the first kilometre to the last.
Wear it if: you like minimal coverage, your shoes do not rub at the collar, and you want the lightest feel possible.
Running Ankle: protection at the collar
The Running Ankle adds height above the shoe. That extra coverage protects the skin around the ankle from friction with the shoe collar, a common source of irritation on longer runs.
Wear it if: your shoes tend to rub around the ankle, or you simply prefer a little more coverage.
Compression: support during effort and after
Our Compression socks use helicoidal compression that wraps with the natural movement of your leg. They are designed to support comfort, stability and circulation, whether you are training, racing or recovering.
Wear them if: you are building up to a race, adding intense sessions, or want support for your legs in the hours after a hard run. More on this in why compression socks matter for recovery.
What all three share
- Bamboo fibre blend for breathability and freshness, run after run.
- Seamless construction where it matters, to avoid hotspots.
- The same three sizes: 35–38, 39–42 and 43–45. See how to find your size.
Building your running sock rotation
You do not need one sock for everything. A simple setup covers most training plans:
- Everyday runs: Running Low Cut or Running Ankle, depending on how your shoes fit at the collar.
- Hard sessions and race day: Compression.
- Recovery: Compression again, after the effort.
Blisters are often what cuts a training block short. Read the science of blister-free running before you ramp up the distance.
